"I will appoint a place for my people Israel and will plant them..."

Abram went when God called Him. The Voice writes, “Without any hesitation, Abram went. He did exactly as the Eternal One asked him to do.” Abram believed God and moved towards His promises to him. It was credited to him as righteousness (Gen. 15:6).

As a result of Abram answering and following when God called, his life was changed. God used him in his eternal plan to bring forth His purposes on earth. God changed his name to Abraham to signify that he would be the father of many nations – which he became.

Abram did not set out to do something for God as much as follow and be with God, entering into His promises for Abram and his family. The same with Noah – he was not setting out to specifically do something great for God but to follow and enter into His promises.

David wanted to build a house for God but instead, God promised to build him a house. It is not so much what we do for God but that we enter into all that He has for us. It is what He does in us, with us and through us.

As we cooperate with God, He invites us into His purposes and plans. He grows and transforms us along the way.

Isaiah writes in Is. 51:1-2, “Listen to me, you who pursue righteousness and who seek the LORD: Look to the rock from which you were cut and to the quarry from which you were hewn; look to Abraham, your father, and to Sarah, who gave you birth. When I called him he was but one, and I blessed him and made him many.”

And Deuteronomy 28 say, "And if you faithfully obey the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to do all his commandments that I command you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, if you obey the voice of the Lord your God. Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the field. Blessed shall be the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your ground and the fruit of your cattle, the increase of your herds and the young of your flock. Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl."

Lord, help us to see the promises that you set before us and move towards them, trusting You to be with us and help us along the way.

Looking to Your Judgments
(Is. 26:8-9), 2008

Looking to Your judgments
I put my hope in You
From deep within my spirit
I cry out to You
Your name and renown
Are for what my heart yearns
To see Your judgments come
That righteousness we’d learn
Through the night
my soul longs for you
When I wake in the morning,
my spirit reaches out to you

For the one in destitution, whose hope has been lost
You have made the way, You already paid the cost
For those who are unwanted, You hear their cry
The needy and afflicted, You never just walk by
The boy without a home, parents or care
You, my Father see and you are there

Your mercy is unending and your justice wide and deep
In Your heart of love, each one of us you keep
In our brokenness and pain, you meet us there
You answer us with awesome deeds of righteousness, giving us such care
