Made for More
“He will bring you back to the land He solemnly promised.” (Genesis 50:24)
Since the beginning of time with Adam and Eve eating of the apple in the garden, the Lord has been working towards a plan to gather us back into the glory and fullness of His presence where we belong and flourish. The woman of Tokea said to the king, "For surely we will die and be like water poured out on the ground, which cannot be recovered. Yet God does not take away a life; but He devises ways that the banished one may not be cast out from Him.” (2 Samuel 14:14)
We were made from the beginning to flourish and reside in the glory as spirit beings. When Adam took dominion and ruled over the earth, it was in Eden. It was in the midst of the glory and he called and gave all animals names. He tended the land.
When Jesus came and died on the cross, He had made the way where there was no way for us once again to be eternal spirit beings. By His death and resurrection, we are birthed into new life. We have been given once again a divine nature. We still live in our body and have this period of overlap. But we have been regenerated.
Our minds and thoughts need to become renewed from the Word of God. It is more than a book just to read and follow, it is filled with seeds about how to live into our new spiritual realities where the body is no longer primary, but spirit is primary. The words carry potential of what we can do [1]. We are to stop getting our identity from what we have done in the past and start getting our identity from what we are created to do [2].
Here are some truths about this: Ephesians 1:3 says, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ." We are blessed in Christ with all spiritual blessings. Nothing was left out in this gift He has given us of access and authority in unseen realms. Proverbs 10:22 says that the blessings of the Lord make us rich and add no sorrow.
The issue is not that we do not have, the issue is that we often do not walk into the truth. We allow doubt and disbelief to overtake the blessings that God has provided to us. We limit ourselves based upon natural realities and fail to exercise the faith needed to make it a reality. One author writes about these blessings in heavenly places, "When we acknowledge what we have, it becomes effectual in our lives." He notes that when he realized the blessings he was given, he began to apply himself to anything he could find for the blessings to manifest.[3]
People born again in the bible we see testifying boldly about Jesus and experiencing incredible miracles. We see that a shifting begins to happen. Like Paul and Silas praising Jesus while they are bound in chains, the physical reality around them cannot hold them. The earth quakes under the authority of the Lord and even physical chains respond. The atmosphere shifts in places where we come and take authority. And as we see from biblical examples, the worldly evil order becomes threatened by His presence and, threatened, rises up to oppose this shift.
I had a dream last night I was in a room and was holding (and watching) a purple alarm clock, and two other matching purple items (a pen and notepad) and responsible for praying. I could see out to the dark night. As I looked, there were people were lining up outside side by side in rows like fastening strips in a soldiers outfit. A few things spoke to me about this. One is that there is a place and position for everyone in the body of Christ and they are needed together in unity. Two, is that we are in a spiritual war. We serve the Lord of Angel Armies. He is a God of war who is always victorious and takes dominion.
We need to take our place in the body and stand our ground. As people were taking their place, in row after row, there was reinforcement. At the same time, whole groups were being slaughtered by the enemy. They were being taken out because they did not know who they were with this divine identity.
We are partakers in His divine nature. In order to stand our ground, we need to be aware of who we are and pull on the resources of heaven. Jesus tells us that we bind on earth, is bound in heavenly unseen realms and what we loose on earth is loosed in unseen heavenly realms. We need to take our authority and pray or we will be overtaken and overwhelmed.
I even find this for myself with praying around my health. I was struggling with being sick several times in the row. Then when I made it a point to pray every day for supernatural immunity and took my authority in this area, I haven’t been sick since this. For one of my employees who does this regularly, he has only been sick once in three years and only for a day or so. All that to say, we need to know and live into our new identity. Through it, we have been restored into this unseen spirit realm that we initially were initially created for.
2 Peter 1:3-4 says, “His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through the knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. Through these He has given us His precious and magnificent promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, now that you have escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.”
Divine nature here is Strongs# 2304, theíos and means to manifest the characteristics of God’s nature, permitting people to know Him by not only observing His attributes but by experiencing them for themselves. [4] And it is by this divine nature, that others can observe Christ and come to know Him.
If we live out of His divine nature, we will always overcome. Since those forces that are against us are from the unseen spiritual realm, and this realm has authority over the natural realm, we are always going to lose when fighting in the natural and be easily overtaken and slaughtered. We cannot fight in the natural what comes from the supernatural. However, if you live out of the spiritual realm, you have authority in heavenly places to take dominion over everything that comes against us. If we operate out of the unseen Kingdom realm, we will find ability to not only stand but ability to take the land.
Lord Jesus, help us to live out of our new divine nature. Convict us where we live out of our natural abilities and forget to access the resources and realm of heaven. Give us new ways of thinking and walking out of this divine authority to take dominion every place we plant our feet.
